In focus: Designers Guild bestsellers – the Veronese collection
With over eleven thousand different designs in the Designers Guild range, it’s astonishing how much attention to detail and innovation is applied to each and every collection it launches. Opulent and romantic, it’s little wonder that the Veronese collection is one of our bestselling fabric ranges. Its soft florals are inspired by sixteenth century Venetian frescos, with the aim of bringing a touch of Italian glamour to your interior.
The florals are the star of the show in Veronese, with photorealistic illustrations and more abstract painterly designs digitally printed onto the softest pure cotton and linen weaves. Each and every detail of the flowers in the exquisite Peonia Lino are captured in the fabric, the fluffy petals of each flower head adding a feeling of texture and life wherever you choose to apply it. Smaller in scale and completely different in style is the Millefiori, an intricately detailed floral inspired by artisanal glasswork in the Veneto region, which translates equally beautifully as an upholstery fabric.
The softer florals in the collection, like the eponymous Veronese and the Carrara in small and large-scale varieties, give a more subtle angle to this collection and are the perfect entry point to this style – use in cushions and blinds to add interest and texture.
Supporting these incredible prints are an elegant stripe, Brera Gessato, a panelled fresco, Foscari, and an interesting architectural geometric, Barchessa. Each has its own Italianate charm, the simplicity of Brera Gessato acting as a balancing element for some of the more intricate florals, while Foscari’s chalky pastels give a soothing colour palette. Barchessa is rich with texture, its angles providing a beautiful contrast to the natural curves featured in some of the other designs.
With all the elements you need to create a gorgeous, Italian-inspired scheme in your living space, this collection exudes elegance and sophistication. The painstaking detail in the realistic florals and the perfect balance of hard and soft lines in the collection demonstrates what we have always known to be true about Designers Guild: its eye for design and attention to detail is second to none.
